Why use herbs and herbal remedies for your horse?
The herbs I work with are all 100% organic

When our equine friends were free to roam the vast acres of pasture land they
would instinctively know where to find the necessary plants to help any ailment
they had. Nowadays we have taken away much of their natural habitat and
fenced them into small paddocks or keep them stabled for many hours
removing  the opportunity for the horse to make itself well.

To give your horse the opportunity to self select a variety of herbs is wonderful
to watch for the owner and you can see how your horse intuitively knows what
 is or isn't needed!

I have a vast range of totally organic and safe dried herbs to offer your horse, none of which can harm. Initially during the
consultation we will discuss the problem your horse may have and then I select a few herbs
which I think may help~ then it is up to your horse whether they are right or not!  For those that
are too far away for a visit, I can still help remotely so please contact me.

I have had wonderful results using "Natures Pharmacy" with horses, these have
included sarcoids, colic, laminitis, stress, over-excitability, sweet itch and coughs
to name just a few, and now also offer some pre-blended herbs which you can
find in the on-line shop
.

 SARCOIDS
This seems to be an area for which I am known best!  I've worked with horses
and their sarcoids for a number of years now - some with success and some
not.  I work on the main with 3 herbs which in some cases have helped the
horse to self cure itself of sarcoids, in other cases as at least stablised the
growth. But as we all know there are no guarantees, having said that the
herbs can do no harm so its always worth a go.  My worst case has been
7 midline sarcoids and 2 in the groin - so 9 in total : I'm happy to say all the
midline sarcoids went within six months, and the groin ones have been stable
 for about 2 years.

CUSHINGS
Sadly there is no cure, but there are herbs that can help to make the horse more
comfortable for longer and in some cases slow down progression.  I am a great
believer in if there is a herbal remedy to try - why not - but these do not replace
your Vets recommendations but can workly really nicely with modern medicine.

HAYFEVER
More and more I am seeing horses who headshake once back problems have
been ruled out and we establish the head shaking is seasonal its fair to say its a
dust allergy or hayfever. Having worked with so many different horses, most of
which have picked the same herbs I have now combined the herbs to make my hayfever remedy which has been very successful. Ideally when working with hayfever/allergy suffers we need to start them on the herbs prior to the season in order that they can build up their resistance. Done this way, my remedy has worked wonders and left many horses able to cope with the high pollen counts.

LAMINITIS
Again, another condition I have worked with many times, and have seen horses constantly pick the
same or similar herbs, so I have also made a wonderful blend of herbs that helps the immune system
and helps the quality of horn growth etc. I've managed to get a horse back out in the paddock within  10 days of onset of laminitis which means recovery time is quicker and so they can return to work
quicker, which is better for the horse than 6 weeks of box rest - this way the horses are happier
which I believe encourages good health.  Obviously the horses are on restricted grazing - but they
 are out and free.

I have on the 'Case Studies' page some good stories about how herbs have helped horses please take a look, they include laminitis and COPD.
